Manawatu survey station / S.C.B. [ca 1842]
Shows a view of the survey station from across the Manawatu River. The Kari Kari station stands on a bend in the river about eight miles from the coast, and consists of four or five scattered buildings and two tents beside bush, at the water's edge. A flagpole flies a blue flag. There is a canoe drawn up on the bank, and another canoe midriver has been erased. The distance shows low rolling bush-covered hills, and the near bank is covered with bush. Drawings & Prints Collection, Reference No. C-126-022 Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington, New Zealand
