Carry on Phil [1960]

[Carry on Phil stage crew]

Margaret Salter

Margaret Salter is this year's ballet mistress, and has been associated with Extravaganza in previous years. Her task is quite unlike that of a normal ballet mistress. Her ability to co-ordinate the elephantine wanderings of a dozen unlikely males can be seen in this year's performance by her boys in the "Dance Of The Thirtynine Steppes."

Terry Crayford is our Assistant Musical Director. He began his musical career in Nelson with a dance band some years ago. Wellington has provided further scope for his ability as a pianist, and he has been a member of the 2YA radio band. Currently appearing as band leader at the Pines, Terry has made several records recently, and his experience is a valuable asset to a production such as Extravaganza.

Liz Crayford (nee Beck) is the Wardrobe Mistress for this year's production. Her association with Extravaganza began when she was a member of the chorus. Since then she has taken several leads, and will be remembered as Josephine in "The P.A.Y.E. Off" (1958) — the bombshell who tried to cash in her babies at the Reserve Bank for £500 a head. While at Victoria University, Liz has been a member of hockey, athletics and swimming teams. Last year she was elected to the position of vice-president on the students' Association Executive.
