Franklyn, Frederick

Franklyn, Frederick, General Broker, Hunter Street, Wellington. Mr. Franklyn came to New Zealand in 1862, locating at Dunedin, where he engaged in mercantile pursuits. He came to Wellington [unclear: in] 1877, and took the management of the principal department of Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., general mercants. Ten years later Mr. Franklyn was appointed agent for Messrs. Kronheimer and Co, of Melbourne, who are the representatives for the Australasian colonies of Messrs. David Dunlop and Co. and Messrs. T. C. Williams and Co., of Petersburg, Virginia, U.S.A. The former firm are the manufacturers of the famous Derby tobacco, which has the largest sale of any brand in the colonies.
