Mr. David Timlin, Chief Boilermaker of the s.s. “Aotea, was born at Hartlepool, Durham, England, in 1866. Apprenticed to Messrs. Craggs and Co., of Middlesborough, with whom he remained for nine years, Mr. Timlin entered the employ of the Central Engineering Company. After serving this Company for ten years, he was appointed to his present position when the s.s. “Aotea” was first put in commission. Mr. Timlin is married, and has three children.
