Lady O'Rorke is a daughter of Mr. Alexander Shepherd, who was sent to Auckland as the first Colonial Treasurer, and arrived in 1842. She was married to Sir G. M. O'Rorke on the 31st of December, 1858, in Auckland. They have only one son, Mr. Edward Dennis O'Rorke, who at one time was an officer of the House of Representatives; he is married to Miss Rhodes, of Christchurch, daughter of the late Mr. Robert Rhodes. Mr. Thomas Bracken, referred to as Reader and Clerk of Bills and Papers on page 107, has retired from that position.
Hansard Staff.
Mr. C. C. N. Barron, who is mentioned on page 108, has retired from the position of Chief Hansard Reporter.
Mr. J. G. Grey (vide page 109), Chief Hansard Reporter, was promoted to the office on the retirement of Mr. Barron.
Mr. J. Gray (see page 51), on his retirement from the position of Assistant Private Secretary to the Premier, became a member of the Hansard staff.
Messrs. A. M. Kay and D. H. Cameron have also been added to the staff.
