Rev. Edmund Mortlock Cowie

Rev. Edmund Mortlock Cowie Diocesan Missionary, Bishop's Court. Auckland, was born in Parnell, Auckland, and is the eldest son of the Primate of New Zealand. He was educated at Christ's College, Christchurch, and Selwyn College (Cambridge), where he took his B.A. degree in 1892, and also at Ely College. He was ordained deacon in 1893 and priest in 1894 in Winchester Cathedral, and was first curate of St. Michael's and All Angels, Portsmouth, during 1893–4. On returning to Auckland he was appointed private secretary and chaplain to the Bishop and upon the resignation
