All Saints' Church

All Saints' Church , Cumberland Street, Dunedin, is one of the leading Anglican churches in the city, and though the exterior is plain, the interior is elaborately decorated. The chancel has a handsome memorial window, and on the floor there is a unique hand-made carpet, the gift and work of the ladies of the congregation. There is a brass eagle lectern, presented by the late Mr. Elliot in 1895, and a brass tablet erected to the memory of his wife and three sons, who died in Auckland. The church possesses an organ, and a good choir of eighteen boys, fourteen men, and twenty lady sopranos and altos. There is seating accommodation for about 500 persons, and the Dean's preaching is so popular that the church is generally filled. The Deanery adjoins the church, and there is also a large schoolroom.
