Pollock, William
Pollock, William , Farmer, Shingley Creek, Morrisons. Mr. Pollock was born at Lesmahagow, Scotland, in 1841, and was engaged from his earliest years in country pursuits. He arrived in Lyttelton, in May, 1863, by the ship “Sebastapol,” and after a short residence in Dunedin and the Taieri, he settled in Shag Valley, in 1867. In 1884, he leased land in the Shingley Creek district, and ten years later he acquired his freehold property, which consists of 200 acres. Mr. Pollock is a breeder of Ayrshire cattle, and possesses a well-bred stud bull. He was married on the 30th of December, 1862, to a daughter of the late Mr. G. Rodger, of Lesmahagow parish, and has six sons and one daughter.
