Experiment 9
Lost Love
Lost Love
Ozymandias scowled, appearing strong.
She came and tripped him full-length long.
"Stop scowling" was her command, and
He smiled as his lips tasted sand.
Sullen lips, smiling, set in a face of stone,
Movement, aching, breaks it, like a hyena'd bone.
Cracks speared down his face from stony eyes,
She saw hollowness inside; All lies! All lies!
Ozymandias was made by human hand
Frail. Searching, and set up in the moving sand.
Awe gone, she spun along her way,
Stay . . . O stay!
Stony shoulders heaved, arms reached after her . . .
Now Ozymandias lies, broken.
