green grows greyer to
my eyes; no gilded tulips
nor blue roses please me—
my eyes are weary waiting
for a mortal maid to come

i've been tossing leaves
so long, one part of me is tree

scenting the sap
in the ferns soft cup dreaming
of the only maidens lap—
