Grande Chatelaine
Grande Chatelaine
Her hair-clips were made out of fish-bones,
her pendants of mother-of-pearl,
her ear-rings were aldermen's wish-bones—
I wish you could see the old girl.
Her tiara showed big stones and small stones,
donated by tigers and fleas,
but the bracelet made out of her gallstones
was the item most likely to please.
