Mesopotamia Items.

Lieut. W. P. Crawford Greene, of the Hussars, and only son of the late Mr. G. H. Greene, of N.S.W., has returned to Sydney on leave from Mesopotamia, where he has been on active service for 18 months. Prior to that, he saw 12 months service in France. Lieut. Greene left for England at the outbreak of the war, and entered the Yeomanry after obtaining a temporary commission with his present regiment.

Major R. B. Johnson has been awarded the D. S. O., and has been mentioned in despatches for his services in connection with the Mesopotamia expedition under Genera] Aylmer, and subsequently under the late General Maude. Major Johnson was attached to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Gallipoli, where he was wounded, afterwards being sent to Mesopotamia in command of a regiment, with the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He is the second son of the late Mr. J. W. Johnson, of Sydney, and prior to the war saw service in Crete, India and China. He took part in the relief of Peking at the time of the great Boxer rising, being awarded the Tiensin Medal for his services on that occasion.
