Australians Praised

Australians Praised.

Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig has a high opinion of Austra ian soldiers. A recent Reuter cable message from London reads:—

"The Press Bureau states that a message through the commander of the 4th Army asks General Birdwood to inform all ranks of the Australian Corps, that the Field Marshal is fully aware of the gallant conduct and magnificent achievement of the Australians, and he wishes to thank them. The splendid service of the 1st Australian Division in the north has not escaped his notice, and the field Marshal desires to include them in this expression of appreciation."

The 4th. A.L.H. Pierrot Troupe has increased the gaiety, if not of nations, at least of thousands of soldiers. The personnel of the Troupe is as follows: G. Digb (ragtime), E. Kopke (tenor), R. Dennis (comedian). E Laurence (baritone)., N.Whelan (humorist).J Munro (light comedian)., E. Baker (pianist), 'Gerardy" (elocutionist), A. Terry (juegler), and G. Tait (property manager) "Gerardy's" recitations of his own compositions are among the most popular items in the excellent programmes presented by the Troupe.
