Hopkins, Commissioner in Egyyt for the Australian Comforts Fund, writes; "[ want to tell ycu a little bit about the Fund, whose God-parents are The Citizens' "War Chest" rund, (New South Wales), The Lady May oress's Pat rotic League (Victoria), Queensland Patriotic Fund, League of Loval Women of Australia, (South Australia), "On Active Service" Fund, (Tasmania), and he Victoria League of Western Australia. Same God-parents. What! The Honorary General Secretary is Mr. Chas. A. Le M. Walker, F C. P. A. 115 Pitt Street, Sydney. I want you boys to write and thank him personally for all the good things the people of Australia are sending you. To give you some idea as to what is being sent over for you from Australia, I will take the year 1917, which was no way near a record one, owing to shipping and labour difficulties: 11,545 cases of goods were distributed to the different Regiments and units in Egypt and Palestine. We also spent cash to the amount of L. E. 1784, iff purchasing sports material, and comforts obtainable in this country. If you want anything" bought for you that you cannot get in the Canteens, write and let us know."
