Another Rhodes Scholar Exported

At an Informal gathering after his last lecture at Victoria College Professor Robertson was given a presentation by his students. Professor Robertson was one of the first students to attend this college where he took his degree in chemistry. He was the college's first Rhodes Scholar in 1905 and after spending a number of years in overseas universities at Oxford, Leipzig and Rangoon, he returned to the college in 1920 as its second Professor of Chemistry. During the years he has been at the college he has made many contributions to chemistry, his most notable work being in the elucidation of the mechanism of organic reactions which has occupied his time in recent years. In addition to his chemical investigations he has made contributions to the study of aesthetics and has published a number of books on these matters. Towards students he has always adopted a most tolerant, helpful attitude. We sincerely hope that the Professor, who will be leaving for England shortly, will live to enjoy a happy retirement after a most useful thirty years of work devoted to this college.
