Copy!

How to do it in one easy lesson

"Salient" will publish anything which is (a) grammatical, (b) readable, (c) not libellous or markedly indecent and (d) not too long, on practically any subject under the sun which could be considered of interest to students.

Copy for any issue should be in by the Friday before its publication, unless you have made arrangements about it before, and been given an Ok, it should not exceed 700 or 800 words. Wherever possible, it should be typed, and if it is typed, it must—repeat must—be double spaced. Otherwise it will need to be retyped by the already overloaded staff. Don't for heaven's sake, refuse to send in stuff if you can't have it typed—we can do it if necessary.

"Salient" room is off the second floor of the gym, and copy may be left there, or on the letter racks in the Common rooms or the Executive room—at the end of the gym verandah. It should be addressed to the Editor.

Letters which fulfil the same conditions will be published and will be welcome. They shouldn't exceed 200 words if possible.

We can't guarantee that any article or letter will be published in the first issue available, because issues may be planned fully weeks ahead, but so long as they stick to those rules up there, they'll be printed as soon as we can get them in.

And if you are as interested as all that in writing stuff, how about coming along one evening to "Salient" room—there is usually one of the staff there—and offer your services in any capacity from reporter to salesman?
