The NZ Youth Council has organised a twoday seminar "NZ's role in Asia" for this weekend.
Professor N. Tarling will provide a survey tomorrow morning. He will be followed by Dr. T. Beaglehole. of Victoria, who will speak on "NZ and Asia."
Mr. T. Roy. of Waikato University, will chair a panel on "NZ Asian attitudes."
Mr. T. McGee, of Victoria., and Mr. K. Coverney, of the Labour Department, will participate in the panel discussion.
The afternoon will feature a panel chaired by a former NZ Ambassador to Japan. Mr. John Reid, on the question of the threat posed by China.
Professor Janaki, Walter Scott. W. E. Murphy and Sam Adshead will take part in the discussions.
Sunday morning will start with Barry Tucker, of Industries and Commerce, on "Trade and economic ties."
G. Braithwaite will follow on "NZ aid to Asia."
G. Keen, a former VSA worker, will finish the programme on the role of NZ and Asian youth.
The seminar is scheduled to finish at 4.45pm on Sunday.
