2.Reduce cost for students to cultural activities.
3.Organize a Clubs Day.
4.Promote and encourage participation at Arts Festival.
5.To try and get a Cultural grant from the Executive equal to that of Sports Grants (At present Sports Council receives $500 more). Pres for a light show for University social activities (and thus save expense which amounts to hundreds of dollars at present).
7.Encourage and promote contact with other local tertiary institutions and cultural organizations eg a Poly-Tech display.
8.Encourage liason with other N.Z. Universities with intentions of promoting and increasing the present circuit to enable more people to participate in inter-university activities.

The Cultural Affairs Officer also plays a role in political policy and administrative decisions of the executive.

Policy in this field would include:
  • Unreserved support for Hart, unreserved support for OHMS. Support for Womens Liberation. Elimination of Racism.
  • Support for S.R.C. decisions.

At present NZUAC have plans to invite the Australian Dance theatre, a cartoonist and political speaker. I fully support this participation at present not only includes those given, but also contact with a group in the USA in order to bring some activity here.

I believe there is too much dead wood in the Student Association. Action is vital. I would continue to organize such activities such as a Cultural Clubs Day which I have already initiated.

The sleeping Student Association needs to be awoken.
