Freedom of expression is integral to Varsity life. Students should become involved in their publications. An open system where creativity is utilized not lost for lack of access. The Varsity should be receptive to the ideas and objectives of students by encouraging participation.

Salient still lacks the courage of the [unclear: undergr]. und press even a quietened Cock. Too much is written in a straight journalist style, and is read and forgotten. Issues and writing must reflect the independence and freedom of the University environment.

I support many things, but unlike McKinleyites I believe support implies actions and as an exec member I will act on three main fronts:-

1.In protest I believe that tangible support be given to the people in OHMS and students and Exec must strongly support Hart in stopping the '73 tour.
2.The degree is still proceeded by the dollar sign and contains little else of interest. Apathy we all know, is King, yet students must become more involved and influential in their courses. We need meaning in the irrelevant role-learning boxes most units have become.
3.The varsity and community must be more unified. Too many of Varsity priviledges are carefully sheltered in the selfishness of elitism.
