To a student who speaks English only, the chief difficulty in pronounciation is the vowels sounds. These must be acquired from a competent tutor, and much practice will be necessary before they are learnt correctly and become habitual. The hints on prounciation, then, given below can serve only as a guide but cannot replace the tutor whose help is indispensable if correct pronounciation is to be attained.
