W. Gray
, Esq., Under Secretary, Post and Telegraph Department,Sir,—It is a remarkable fact—an extraordinary coincidence to say the least of it—that ever since the "New York Times," and my literary connection with that great newspaper was made the subject of a debate in Parliament last session, my files of American papers have not come to hand, although previously they reached me at regular intervals. Will you kindly make inquiries into the matter, as I am entirely at a loss to understand how the files have gone astray.
I remain, Yours truly,
J. Grattan Grey.
