The Spike or Victoria College Review 1936
Ego
Ego
Great man am I this night:
I accused God and found
He could not answer.
I have put Him in His place at last—
That is just where I want Him.
I felt I could not rule the roost
While this proud Monster lived.
Be careful, Satan! Tax me not!
I am supreme: I have killed God . . .
I hold my life a ransom for my sin.
