In regard to the question of the departure of New Zealand and Australian troops, my Prime Minister has had the opportunity of perusing the telegram dated 30 April from the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia to you.1 My immediately following telegram (No. 124) contains the text of my Prime Minister's reply. His Majesty's Government in New Zealand would be grateful if a reply to my telegram of 30 April (No. 119) could be despatched so as to reach here by 8 a.m., New Zealand time, on 1 May, as the New Zealand troops embark on that date. At the same time please repeat your reply to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia.
