There are two advertisements now in the papers (which I enclose), and which I think you would do well to print on a fly leaf or slip of paper, and stick into the Hand Book.

I would also recommend that you print in like manner, and stick into Colonial Surveying, the words which follow:—

"The peculiar modes of surveying, selecting, and giving possession of land, recommended in this work, are those adopted by the Canterbury Association in its settlement on the Southern Plains of New Zealand."

There is a work on the stocks relating to the Canterbury Settlement, the publication of which I purpose getting into your hands. It will be ready in a few days.

I think it probable that your copies of the Hand Book will soon be gone; for the interest about the Canterbury Settlement (now at last going ahead) is likely to be wide-spread.
