The Founders of Canterbury
Reigate, 29th June, 1849
My Dear FitzGerald,
—By some unfortunate accident I have mislaid your letter, and cannot recollect when you proposed coming here. But this is of the less consequence, as circumstances have happened which for the present render any application to the Company quite unadvisable. It is impossible just now to have the previous concert without which no good could come of an application.
I am sorry for it, as for many other things relating to colonization: but Patience!
