1875. 19 June.Hokianga District.This Deed made the nineteenth day of June 1875 between Her Majesty Queen Victoria on the one part and Pauro Rangaihi, Wiremu Tana Papahia, "Wiremu Mutu, Otangaroa No. II. Amiria Te Tai, Herewini Te Toko, Mihaka Arapeti, Mika Hone Kingi, and Pauro Muru, of Hokianga Aboriginal Natives of the Colony of New Zealand (hereinafter called " the Vendors") of the other part, witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of One Receipt for £171 . 10. hundred and seventy one pounds ten shillings (£171 . 10 . 0) by Her Majesty paid to the Vendors on the execution hereof (and the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) the Vendors do and each of them doth hereby surrender convey and assure unto Her page 123said Majesty all that block or parcel of land containing One thousand seven hundred and eighteen acres or thereabout known or called Otangaroa No. 2 as the same is more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and delineated on the plan drawn on this Deed and coloured red, together with all rights and appurtenances thereto belonging or appertaining. To hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances unto Her said Majesty Her Heirs and Successors for ever. In Witness whereof the Vendors have hereunto set their hands the day and year first above written:

Bounded—Towards the East by the Otangaroa No. 3 Block twenty-two thousand and Boundaries. [1,718 acres. ninety-five (22095) links; towards the South by a line eight thousand three hundred and five (8305) links; towards the South-west by the Otangaroa No. 1 Block eleven thousand two hundred and ninety-five (11295) links; and towards the North-west by the Rotokakahi Block two thousand eight hundred and eighty-two (2802) links and eighteen thousand seven hundred and nineteen (18719) links.
